John 17:20-21 (NKJV) " I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; may they also be one in the US that the world may believe that You sent me."
Have you ever experienced God's presence in your life in such a powerful way that you wanted to stay in that place forever? Maybe you were at a retreat, church service, or conference where the anointing was so strong that you felt God's love infiltrating every cell of your body.
These mountaintop experiences are lovely but are often short-lived.
As believers who long to be eternally in the presence of our Lord, we must learn to practice being in His presence daily. This practice is called ABIDING.
In Jon Quesenberry's book, Presence-Based Community, he explains that abiding is the state of being connected to God through cultivating and passionately pursuing a deeper relationship with Him daily.
Think about every meaningful relationship in your life for just a moment. How much time, energy, sacrifice, and effort did it take to develop? Now apply it to your relationship with Abba Father. When we truly make time to intimately know the Father as Jesus did when He walked among us some 2000 years ago, then we begin to know His heart. Our Lord always makes time for His children and never says wait a minute, or I am busy. He is anxiously awaiting each of us to make time in our schedules for Him. Let's begin today.
